Featuring American Meat by Graham Meriwether

American Meat explores the complexities embedded in the highly debated practices of the American meat industry. As the economy drives a contraction of conventional chicken, pork and beef operations, we hear the innovative methods of the charismatic, Virginia-based farmer, Joel Salatin.

fotos from MeanRed, 8.21.2010

¡dpm! spent yesterday evening with MeanRed, at their outdoor concert with Asobi Sesku & Brooklyn openers Golden Triangle.

Nothing like vending in a junk yard…

¡dpm! was joined by fellow vendors from the Greenpoint Food Market:

K-thos, with their tasty Korean bbq (fresh figs!)

Dixie Spanish, with her DIY s’mores & boiled peanuts

Sandwhich Friend (I might be a vegan convert now…who knew ginger-sesame tofu could be so good?)

and the freaking awesome shaved ice concoctions by Bao Bing. We were too busy savoring their mango sorbet with fresh kiwi & strawberry to pause for a photograph.

‘Twas a lovely evening of dreamy music and finger-lickin’ food. Classic BK under the stars by the Gowanus.

Bonus: Check out Dan’s choice words regarding the Greenpoint Food Market shut-down in this article from the Brooklyn Paper…

¡dpm! at L Magazine’s ‘Emerging Artists’ Party, 7.29.10

¡dpm! catered L Magazine + Bumble & Bumble + NADA‘s ‘Emerging Artist’ Party alongside fellow Greenpoint Food Market vendor friends Masala Loca, Electric Blue Baking Co. & Robicelli’s last Thursday. So New York. Think: swanky meatpacking rooftop with stunning sunset views of…New Jersey? (yes, that’s B&B’s actual hair salon), and performance art by Matthew Lutz-Kinoy involving goopy paint and serious high heels. Their’s is a cool project – a collaboration between the aforementioned hosts, aimed at showcasing burgeoning talent in the city.

Masala Loca posted some photos from the event on their blog.
